ROD-L Electronics, Inc., founded in 1977, designs and manufactures electrical safety test equipment. ROD-L is noted for inventing the automated dielectric withstand (hipot) tester. The hipot tester is designed to ensure that a product is electrically safe from shock or fire hazard should there be a voltage surge on the input power line of the product. All ROD-L testers are engineered to operate stand-alone or as part of a fully integrated, automated test solution. All ROD-L testers are also upward compatible to all other ROD-L testers so that upgrading by adding modules or options may be done without having to change tester models.
ROD-L, in collaboration with AT&T, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Tektronix and XEROX, set the standard for breakdown detection for manufacturers in the data processing, office equipment, home appliance, medical equipment, and telecommunications industries. ROD-L's product line includes AC hipot, DC hipot, leakage current, ground continuity, and insulation resistance testers as well as accessories and options to suit most, if not all, electrical safety test applications.
ROD-L Electronics set the industry standards by creating the first Underwriters Laboratories (UL) safety certified (UL Listed) hipot and ground continuity testers, creating a standard definition for insulation breakdown, and inventing the first fully automated hipot test system.
ROD-L was awarded the Consumer Product Safety Award for designing and manufacturing the safest hipot tester. Chubb & Son Insurance Company deemed ROD-L Electronics to be the only insurable manufacturer of hipot testers.
ROD-L offers a 5-year warranty, parts and labor, on all of its products. In fact, for as long as our products are annually calibrated by the ROD-L factory (annual calibration is required by Underwriters Laboratories), the original 5-year warranty effectively becomes a lifetime warranty. ROD-L's fixed price calibration service includes all repairs needed to maintain the product at its initial operating condition, and the service carries a 1-year warranty.
